I am having problem with the cursor while typing ( Notebook Acer Aspire 5720 Vista OS). If the mouse is positioned anywhere in the screen and while I am typing the cursor is sitting there at that spot. Once I pass that spot ( while fast typing)it will soon interrupt the line that I would be typing and put me back at that spot where it would continue typing characters. So all of a sudden I would be typing from somewhat middle of the text. I would have to click somewhere past the text i typed in order to stop that kind a interruption, but it would happen again once i get to it again. It is like it came to "next line" spot. hope you understand what I mean. what is the remedy. It has nothing to do with Word, since the same problem will appear at the very first password box when loading the OS. If you know anything about that BUG, please email me.

to be honest i have this problem sometimes and i really just assumed it was because my thumb or some part of my hand hits the touch pad while i am typing fast, and seeing as though tapping the pad causes a left click the text cursor postion moves to where the mouse is positioned. the way that i have stopped this is simply altering the settings of my touchpad so that a tap on it does not produce a click at all. this was done using the software that comes with the driver for my laptops touchpad. im assuming its very standard to be able to choose whether a tap on the pad means a click or not. try checking your settings for the software that controls your touchpad.
hope this helps.

Thank you guys for the response to my question. My mouse is Logitech with cord, M/N : M-UV55a
It is just anoying that very minute while typing the text or a letter, flashing cursor jumps back to the position of the mouse cursor (where has been left off).

I think I just found a solution for this problem. It may be in settings for a Mouse or touch pad. Open Mouse properties, click on Pointer options "tab", and clear the checkbox " Hide Pointer While Typing". That will do it!
Thanks Liam again for giving me a hint..
