Hi, I bought a new acer laptop and it came with vista. i want to get rid of vista. Now when i put the cd in for windows xp, it doesnt boot from cd for some reason. Those CDs's are bootable because i have tried on my other laptop which has XP and they work fine. And when i try to format my HD from cmd, it says access denies.I just type in format C:, if there is any other way on how to format my HD or to get rid of vista, please let me know, thank you.

m.mansour,
You're supposed to discourage MULTY for hijacking your thread--by asking him to open a separate thread for his PC problem--not encourage him.
Now back to your time synchronization issue. If you are indeed loosing time in both OS', you may need to replace your CMOS battery, have you looked into that yet?

Sabertooth, yesterday i adjust the time from CMD, by using "time" command, i did not login XP, till now time is correct. i have symantec anti-virus 10.2 on both OS. also i noticed that when i login to XP, then back to Vista, the Symantec anti-virus is disable, im not sure if there are a relation between this and the time issue.

I moved away from Symantec for good several years ago & don't plan on going back, so I can't tell you if it is the culprit here. However, there are far too many AV alternatives these days that you can bet your money on - some even FREE.

Go into your system BIOS, set the time there & make sure you save the settings before exiting. If that does not fix this, you may have a weak or dying CMOS battery & you would need to replace that.
