Comment: I downloaded a small application (wheelmouse.zip) and saved it in Program Files. Not only does it not display in Program Files but Vista says it can't find it! The download process seemed to go OK! I am very new to Vista and this is my first download attempt. Any suggestions on why this file can't be found? Thanx

Reply: (edit)zorkilc - I always download applications to the Program Files folder prior to installing them. After installation I delete the App. I've never had a problem with this procedure until Vista came along. XPuser - thanx for the tip. So to ampliy this post I just wantd to say that after what seems like a successful download, all I get is a shortcut which leads nowhere. I must be doing something wrong. Appreciate any suggestions, Thanx

Reply: (edit)The Vista default location is user name\downloads this is a good place to put downloaded files. Select that next time you download and all future files will go there.

Reply: (edit)Well, whaddaya know? Today I open my Program Files folder and there is my downloaded file, zipped and all. Anyway, thanx to all. The lesson learned is: let Vista put the file where it wants. Thanx for everyone's help.
