I have a problem with booting windows vista. basically what happens is when i boot into the OS it would automatically restart when just showing the bar loading screen. using the boot manager and disabling auto restart, i recieve a STOP error 0x0000007B (0x82404BA0,0xc0000036,0x00000000,0x00000000)
Using the Vista install DVD and running startup repair tool doesnt solve this problem as it just comes up as failed. Also SFC doesnt run from RE.

and you think i havent done that already why?...
basically those links are concerning windows setup/install...not with bootup.
Also the page they give that's on MS KB is to do with XP not Vista so hence there's no repair install option in vista

I'm not sure if this will help, but see if you can enable boot logging in Vista. It will log all boot activity including the point where you get the stop error. It may be a driver problem.

Vista used to boot properly so it was working till that point. as for boot logging, for some reason there's no ntbootlog.txt. I do believe it's a driver problem because it happened after uninstalling things but since i cant repair via startup tool or get into safe mode,i cant fix it.
