Here is my story, I got 4gb of ram and a quad core processor, woohoo. Kept getting stop errors and bsods, so my friend told me that it was 4gb on 32bit vista that caused the problem, did a little research and upgraded to 64 bit. Well now I get even more, probably becuase of the fact it's 64 bit. Functions well when it does, but can't live with the stops.
My question is, shoudl i give up and downgrade to 32 bit again and then just remove one of the sticks of ram and make it 2gb. Any opinions or ideas appreciated!

You problem is more than likely hardware related. Stop errors & BSODs are arguably quite rare in Vista.
- Is this a system you put together yourself or an OEM machine?
- How long has it been going on?
- Did anything change prior to the beginning of the errors?

It seemed to be the ram, but I ran multiple tests and it shouldn't have any problems. All the main components are brand-new (mobo, processor, ram)
Maybe I should just see if I can exchange the ram back at the store either way to check...
Yes i did build it.

Try running a test with just one of the two 2gb memory sticks installed at a time and see if you have the failures with just one of the sticks -- if so, replace that stick.
Let us know how you do.
Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback.
After thurough testing I found no errors with the memory, I had problems with one stick, and then i found some old ddr 800 ram instead of my new 1066 and i have been going for a while (just half a day) without problems. The site for my evga board doesn't list my new crucial memory as compatible, could this really be the problem?
