Hi. I am currently trying to fix my old roommates computer, but I cannot be too sure where to start as his HDDs are set on a RAID-0, and I am not too familiar with how my other roommate had set up the system. Right now, I'm dealing with a Windows Vista 64-bit boot up error, and I cannot get to the HDDs when I boot on a disk (the RAID-0 is not detected when I run the "repair" option), and I cannot get to the disk when I allow the HDD to continue the boot up (continues to fail start up in all modes). I've burned my brain trying to figure out possible solutions, but I've reached my limit. Can anyone possibly help me out? Thanks
Rob

RAID 0 is not "RAID" but just simple striping across multiple disks, usually 2. That means that the hard drives (2) share the data, and only each contain 1/2 of the data.
It sounds like the stripe set is broken. To confirm, hit whatever key is necessary to go into the BIOS of the RAID controller. Then look at status. If its broken, then he's lost all of his data.

I understood that much of a Raid 0, but what I couldn't understand was how to repair a possibility of a system boot error in the OS. I tested the strip, both physical and software. They are both functioning properly. And, with the help of my roommate, we had to use a flash drive to install the proper drivers for the RAID console during the disk boot up to detect the HDs. We are currently repairing the boot up files now, at least I'm hoping so. The first attempt through the repair option hasn't worked, so here's to hoping. Thanks again for your advice. Even though it wasn't exactly what it turned out to be in the end, haha.
