[virus] Vista auto reboot

The above mentioned computer has been rebooting constantly; at startup, exiting all open programs,and happens 3-4 seconds or so. How can I disable the rebooting? I think it's because a friend had installed activeX whilst browsing the internet, and now this happened. Thank you in advance.

you can try the run command used with xp in vista to prevent automatic shutdown. (I haven't tried it myself as I haven't had the need but most run commands work the same)
Click "start" > "run" > then type "shutdown -a" (note the space between shutdown and the minus sign) without the inverted commas.
This should allow you to run the programs you need to remove the menace.
