PC type at top is NOT true. I just had to choose something to let me post...

While checking my Y! mail, i dicovered an email written in Chinese text by someone named “Sean” I said to myself, “Oh that’s spam, lets just move it to it’s appropriate folder…”

Then BAM!

My screen gets all jumbled. Crtl-Alt-Dlt doesn’t work. Nothing worked. Hell, even the shortcut (F12) I created to kill unresponding tasks wasn’t working. I decided to go for a manual push of the off button.

The comp is now off. I turn it back on. The on ring has a light, BUT

The HDD light is not blinking, is not responsive
My mouse has no light coming out of it.
No other peripherals respond, their only on.
The BIOS does not show up, only a black screen with the words from my monitor “No Signal”

Is there a tool i can use, a flash drive program i can plug in while it starts. The comp is nonrespisnive, not booting up. I will try to post images of the jumbled screen later (taken by my camera) as I am on a public computer.

In my wisdom, i have unlugged the ethernet cord from my comp, isolating it, and unplugged the power, just in case.

You need to diag your system hardware would be my guess.

See web pages on how to diag a power supply first along with the power on button. Be careful. There are some older computers that have LETHAL voltages. If you are uncertain then be sure to take it to a repair center.

You might want to try Ultimate Boot CD for Windows, www.ubcd4win.com

I've used it to diagnose many computers that would not boot up, otherwise.

Don't know if it'll work without Bios, tho.

Good luck!
