My wife poped on facebook and her comp locked up on her telling her she needed to run a virus scan. when she clicked on it it pulled up a site wating her to perchase antivirus software. she immediately pulled up norton and began running a scan and it found three trojans. she restarted the comp and it immediately pulled her to the site (she had been disconnected from our network for about 20 min now). now the only way she can be on is to be in safe mode, or else all that starts up again. what can she do to remove and stop this?

Might try live cd's such as partedmagic that have clam av.

It may or may not secure your system.

Some of norton's disks can be used as boot cd's to try to repair.

Might try running av from safe mode, or try a restore point to a time when it worked.

Might end up doing a clean install from OEM disks.

Make sure you never run as an admin. Always run as limited or standard user. It helps prevent this.
