Comment:

My daughter's Pavilion, which is only 6 months old, keeps freezing up with a crazy video display. I've run a full Norton virus sweep and it found nothing. As soon as it freezes, I do a re-boot and it acts ok for a few hours/days, so I don't think the CPU is overheating. Is there a way to check the video card or should I just try to go to HP and download the driver? OBTW, I don't know if this happens in Safe mode. Thanx

6 months old - so still under warranty. Get your supplier/HP to sort it.

also, try to do a system restore. may be your daughter touched something she was not supposed to do. another solution is to update your drivers...did you install any new software recently? if so uninstall it. may be you installed a game for kids...sometimes those games mess up with your vide drivers...

frankhelp - good point. Yes, they have installed several video games. I guess I'll reinstall the driver! If that don't fix it I'll do Steve's suggestion.

I downloaded/installed the nVidia update (65MB). So far, so good.
