Comment:

I got a laptop with a busted screen. I have just reinstalled the original software with Vista. Now, when I boot in a safe mode, the system prompts me to switch wo a normal mode since "Windows ar not fully installed". However, when I do that, it toggles the video to the broken screen and I can not toggle it back. Is there any way to disable video drivers, so it will stick to VGA output?

... have you tried tapping <Fn> + another <key> from top row of keyboard? (to toggle back) ...it should have a monitor icon on it

I wish it were that simple: none of the function keys works.

I believe, we set some display parameter to 'both', but it did not help either: for some reason it automatically switches from VGA to the dead screen. The guy at the computer store that tried to fix the problem was totally shocked by this and he really knew what he was doing. I need some hacker to think about this phenomenon. It must be something simple but not obvious.

It might be: next time I'll check what options are there. Does it boot to VGA by default?

You are missing the point: I can't get to Vista. I can only get to boot section and then I lose my video. If I could make my video stay on VGA after I boot, it would accomplish my goals.
