Hello. I just recieved this Laptop and I just reinstalled Windows Vista Ultimate on it. Now, everything works perfectly except drivers. I went to the Sony website and saw a ton of stuff I need to install.

First off, SonicStage. I installed and it told me that I cannot install it on this system because it is not a Sony VAIO computer. W-T-F? Isn't this a Sony VAIO Laptop? Oh, also it gave me an error code 1.

Then, my graphics card is NVidia. Before I reinstalled, it detected my graphics card as NVidia, but now, its detecting my graphics card as Intel Express Chipset Controller. W-T-F? I thought NVidia was what I have or had. Does my computer have 2 Video Cards in it? I even installed the NVidia Driver from Sony and still Vista detects my Video Card as Intel.

The next thing is Drivers. It is telling me that 3 Drivers are NOT installed. 1. Biometric Coprocessor. This could be the NVidia/Intel Video thing maybe. 2. Mass Storage Controller. This is my Memory Stick Reader and I don't know why it doesn't have a driver installed. 3. Unknown Device. I have no clue what driver that is.

Yeah, I could get those drivers from Sony, but what drivers do I get to fix these 3 driver problems? Theres like different different download links, half of them repeat and are the same, just different versions.

How do I fix these problems? Please Help and sorry for any sarcasm here.

XpUser, I am not trying to sound like a rude person, but why does it matter with what edition I install on my laptop? Aren't all the editions the same when it comes to drivers?

I am not sure what operating system it came with preinstalled. I think its either Windows XP Professional, but when I got this laptop, it was running Windows Vista Home Premium and now, I reformatted the hard drive and installed the Ultimate version. Before that, I did an upgrade (without activating) and everything was working fine, but I wanted to reformat this system since I felt this computer had junk on it as was kind of slow.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

SONY VGN-SZ160P

Original Operating System:

* Microsoft® Windows® XP

Compatible Operating Systems

* Microsoft® Windows® XP
* Microsoft® Windows Vista® Business

Sony eSupport

Oh & BTW, I was unable to find a VAIO VGN-S'G'160P, so I figured you must have posted an incorrect model number in your OP.

Okay, I found my Sony VAIO Installation CD for Vista. It is the Ultimate Edition (Lucky Me I Own The The Grand Version!) Anyways Sabertooth, its VGN-SZ160P, not the SG160P. Now, I reinstalled the Sony Ultimate Version, installed okay, detects my system as Sony, but NOW, I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS. I installed SonicStage and it told me that this isnt a Sony? Also, my Graphics is still pointing to Intel, not NVidia. Oh and another thing. Will Windows Vista Business solve this problem?
