Hi all, I recently purchased a generic Usb/Firewire PCI combo card off of ebay. The seller advertised it as Vista compatible but the driver cd that was included only supported Win 95 thru XP. The seller agreed to take it back but I was hoping that someone might know if Vista has drivers to support it before I wnt thru the trouble.

If so, can someone give me a step by step on how to install them?

Here is the link to the ebay item I purchased: http://cgi.ebay.com/8-Ports-PCI-USB...

I can see the PCI card in the device manager as Generic PCI controller. Vista says drivers are not installed. When it asks if I would like Windows to search online for drivers and I say yes, it does not find anything on the internet.
Hope I gave enough info, thanks in advance :)

That's a Sabrent PCI card, part no. SBT-FWPHB. Go to Sabrent drivers page below and see if they offer Vista drivers for it. If no joy you won't get it anywhere else. Send it back to seller for full refund.

Thanks. I went to the website and the product # you gave was not correct, it looks like Product # : USB-UF6. Just curious, are you sure its a Sabrent?

If so, are you sure Vista built in drivers cannot take care of it?

Thanks again :)

Nope. I used google based on the vague info you provided. Do you have the box, instructions, CD, anything that will identify its manufacturer and product id?

I have everything...The box, the CD, cables....It does not say the manufacturer anywhere. The box front says "Interface Card" ...There is a model number on the back HE476V...And a 'Serie' (mispelled?) on the back PCI2005005123 ... The driver CD comes up and says the driver does not support your OS.

"Usb/Firewire PCI combo card off of ebay"

It is likely a crap card with an ALi or VIA chipset, buy a decent card with an NEC Chipset, but not from FleaBay

Thanks, funny, it is a VIA chipset... Thanks for the advice, I learned my lesson.. My next purchase will be a NEC chipset card.

Before I throw in the towel, does anyone else know if Vista drivers will work?
