Before I post my question, the above specs are for my mother's Gateway desktop. So, in case you want to know...

Hello all...

I have a question.
My mother accidentally replaced a file with another in her USB drive. It was a book she was working on for a long time. Now, this is important...
I have used several data recovery programs and they did find many files with that had the same name, but they were all blank.
I also did a system restore to see by chance if there would be any way to restore it. I knew it was slim, but had to try.

Can someone please help me by letting us know if there is a way to recover this book that was on her flash drive??
I did find a program at majorgeeks.com that did restore data from the USB but it was a corrupt program, kept flashing the screen and we had to get out of it. So, does anyone know any other sites I can go to get a program to recover from USB, or is it a lost cause??
If that is the case, this is devastating.

Please help us.
Thanks in advance to anyone that replies.

Viv
P.S. I posted this in the "Database" section and did not get one single reply, we are in much need of help.

Hi Mavis007, thanks for the reply, yes, I have used it and it only showed me parts of the book that it recovered and the rest was encrypted, so no good. I have tried every free program just about that there is, NOW the PC and her USB are at a shop (I know the owners) and they have programs that WILL recover the book. I gather not very legal copies of programs, but who cares.

Thanks for replying though...
Viv
