USB / Parallel issues

Specs: Windows Vista
Hi = I bought a second hand HP2100 and only realised when it turned up that it only has a parallel port - my laptoponly has usb so i bought a usb to paerallel adapter. When I plugged it in it said it was installing the drivers etc, anmd all seems to be okay but when you try to print - nothing! Im not sure if i need to get anbother driver - anyone any ideas?

Did the product say it was for Vista and your printer model? Can you change the printer type by the printers menu (just in case)

Try to change the port used by the printer. It would be lpt2 maybe or such.See system hardware information.

Might also have to change the type of lpt to match what the printer needs. Usually it need bi-directional.

Might have to un-install printer software and re-install
