I've got a TOSHIBA SATELLITE L350 laptop running external USB disk drive.
First time I used the external drive the laptop correctly installed the driver and it correctly detected the drives.
After a week the laptop failed to detect the drive probably. The only thing that would work was external keyboard and mouse connected to the USB along with a 8G memory stick.
Dioes anyone any ideas ?
Thanks

Is the drive plugged in? Is it connected directly to the laptop or does it have a hub? Did you try it on another computer? Replug all connectors also.

Yes the drive is plugged into the usb. Tried it with and without a hub.
The usb drive is also correctly detected when I use my friends laptop.

Look then at admin tools under computer management storage and see if it shows up there.
MS tries to give the same drive letter each time, sometimes it can't and just doesn't give a drive letter. Put one that is high like m or p or such.
