I have a stand alone PC running Vista Ultimate which is the central part of my home entertainment centre (via Media Centre). I do not have an internet connection to this machine, nor any netwrok.
The only internet connection I have is via a wireless 3G modem on my Vaio Notebook (running Vista business).
Now that Auto Patcher has been closed down, is there another way to get all of the Windows updates 'off-line' so as to keep the PC running smoothly?

Since there are too many updates to Vista, you should prepare a batch file with the ff commands, otherwise you have to restart your PC many many times, which will become a nuisance. ( I assume you know how to prepare a batch file with .bat or .cmd extension).
wusa.exe <path_1 to update file> /quiet /norestart
wusa.exe <path_2 to update file> /quiet /norestart
You can add as many lines as are necessary to include all updates.
<path to update file> is where you keep the updates.
Please note: The updates have .msu extensions.
If an update has .exe extension, then just put the path to .exe file. Do not use wusa.exe before the path.
