Unwanted zoom & scrolling

Hewlett-packard Pavilion dv3-2155mx note...

Specs: Windows Vista
What's up with the touchpad? It has a mind of it's own - changing my zoom view or scrolling all the time!!!! I don't want to go to a 10% or 740% which the computer does often while I only move the cursor.

Is there some way to either:
--turn off the touchpad auto zoom & scroll
--maybe move the scroll feature to the left side of the touchpad that I don't use as much.

Would that turn off the touchpad completely? I just want to turn off or disable the zoom & scroll features of the touchpad.
