Unexpexted Shut-Downs (crashing)

Specs: Windows Vista
mine is a windows vista loaded in a Hp
computer.from past 1 month when ever i
install a new software or hardware or do multiple tasks,in a blue screen it gives an
error message of crash dumping and
automatically restarts.i have scanned my
system with Quick Heel-2009 and found no
virus.PLEASE HELP me to stop my system from
crashing frequently.you can send your answers

First, uncheck " Automatically Restart " option in System\Advanced\Recovery section. This way you will be able to read the error messages that will appear on the screen whenever crashes occur.

Do a " CHKDSK /F /R " ( without quotes ) in Command Prompt with Admin Privileges for checking and repairing bad sectors.

Other than this, reinstall Windows Installer program.
