Hi! Chaps, does anyone know about this problem,
quite some time ago I had lots of problems with Vista, and decided to do a clean install, so I put the recovery disk in the slot and followed instructions, and thought that was what I had done, but, with Vista, the recovery disk isn't used at all, the clean install is hidden in the system, one must read the instruction book.
All I had done, was put another instance on the computer, because, each time it was booted up, there were two to choose from.
Now, for some unknown reason, the first one is corrupted, so, I have to be sure to select the second one, which is a bit of a nuisance.
Apart from that, everything is working perfectly. What I want to know is, is it possible to delete the first instance some way, perhaps through the registry, so that it can only boot into the good one, as I'm reluctant to go through all that bother of a clean install when everything is fine.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.hwillett

You accomplish that fairly easily & a program like EasyBCD will help you remove the invalid Vista installation entry in your boot menu.
The first thing you do is locate & delete the errant Windows installation folder. Once that is done, you can then clean up the boot menu.

Thank you Sabertooth, I downloaded EasyBCD but,
got an error message that it was corrupt, and can you please tell me how to locate the invalid installation entry, as I have tried to get help from google without any luck, sorry to be a nuisance.
