Was the TV out option available before you updated the display adapter drivers or did you update the display adapter drivers because there was no TV out option in Display Properties and you wanted to get it there ?
Normally there is a combination of keys you press to switch between different outputs ? Do you have such keys on the keyboard of the laptop such as Fn key and F3 or F4 key or whatever ?

If you updated the drivers out of Acer's own web site , then you must contact Acer for the problem because I believe the display adapter drivers is not fully compatible with Vista. Otherwise you would have the TV out option somewhere either in Windows Display Properties or the graphics card maker's own software, if not a specific keyboard key combination.
