trojan horse generic 18.prn removal

Specs: Windows Vista
Hello, I have 900 hits from this trojan horse. I also have the lastest AVG protection which says it has taken care of it, but in AVG the result is listed as INFECTED!
So far I have slow internet connection from this infection.
I.m afraid to remove from Avg, it says that my computer may crash!!!
please help

Are you sure it's AVG and not fake anti virus? In any event I would download anti-malware from Then reboot the computer and press f8 a few times when it first reboots, this should bring up a menu allowing you to go into safe mode. Now install, update and run a full scanwith malwarebytes, remove selected objects. That's a good start.
