Subject: Trasnferring Documents from old HDOS: Vista 64 bitCPU/Ram: 4gbModel/Manufacturer: HP |
Comment: I recently bought a new computer and took my old hard drive out and put it in an external usb casing. I want to transfer all of my old files onto my new hard drive. Most of my files will transfer no problem, except for the files in the My Documents folder. I can manually unlock the permissions on each file in order to transfer it, but it would take forever to do this to each individual file. I'm wondering if there is a way to unlock all of the files at once so that I have permission to move them all at once. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)I've done that many times and never had a problem with the My Documents folder. Have you tried to take ownership of the entire folder at once?
