Toshiba laptop wont take USB tuntable why?

Specs: Windows Vista
l have toshiba laptop, am trying to set up a Tevion USB turntable but dont know where line-out cables go

If it's the same as the Ion one I use then you don't have a lot of options. You can use just the USB connection, which doesn't give a lot of flexibility and on the Ion insists you install iTunes for some reason. For the line out cables you need to get an adapter that converts the two phono cables to a single stereo mini jackplug - Maplins/Radio Shack have them, this is then plugged into the microphone socket, but you have to mess around with the microphone volumes to get a good level. If you were using a desktop PC you use the 'line in' socket - but again you still need a phono to mini jack plug adapter.
