Specs: Windows Vista Home
Hey all. My computer crashed recently (Toshiba Laptop) A breif rundown was basically when it crashed I put the recovery disc into the cd drive and started again, it got part of the way and stopped giving me errors I posted the issue here and the feedback I got was the HDD knackered. So Ive replaced that only to have same problem. I figured now the recovery disc is knackered although not a scratch on it. So this got me thinking maybe the cd drive has gone haywire. So I copied the recovery cd over to my portable HDD, (I looked at all the files on the cd and they seem to be there) plug it in reboot. And now it tells me BOOTMGR is missing, press ctrl - alt - del to restart. Same problem again. Does anyone have thoughts on this. Like have they had similar problem or ......... All thoughts appreciated. Have posted this in another area so sorry if you read twice.'

... with you "old" hard drive hooked-up you could try this click here

... please do as requested here >> #Response Number 4 click me

... and post back details here as there maybe other "unknown's"

... if its just the "boot manager" {bootmgr} type:

bcdedit.exe /set {bootmgr} device partition=c: [press enter]

....... making sure of the spaces
