Hi I am tryin to open my extern hard drive and i keep on getting an error messsage saying it needs to be formatted, how can i open it avoid loosing all my stuff
where is the drive come from, how was the stuff put there... etc etc
my external hard drive is toshiba 320GB, i have in there my thesis and the ebooks used as well as some pictures, and live course videos, it was working fine last night tonight when i introduced the external hard drive USB to my toshiba laptop L305D-S5893 it was not recognized so when i went to my computer and clicked to be open it replied that i must format, when i clicked on properties it displays no free spance when i have just used around 80 of the 320. Please help not very computer sappy
You had it plugged to another computer and then plugged it in your laptop different computer? I was not clear on it very well sorry. Just because the OP does not come back in 3 or 4 days to reply, does not mean he will not come back and reply.
Sorry for the mishap, I have always used it on my laptop only, by "my computer" i meant i went to start, computer, and when i clicked on the hard drive icon it would not open it would ask me to format first but if I do format i loose all my information so is there anyway I can skip that part.
do a search for data recovery. You will need to buy a product that can restore your data.
