Specs: Windows Vista
i have a toshiba computer satellite and the driver drawer will not open even with a pin. i have only used it once and do not have a disc in it. what can i do with out costing me alot of money. is this caused by something that was downloaded. please help.

If there is a pinhole, using this opens it mechanically, so failure to do so cannot be due to a download or any form of software issue. You have to push a straightened paper clip into it (rather than a pin) quite firmly, steadily, keeping it in the horizontal position. The idea is to phisically move the drawer actuators through a short distance.

If you right click the CD/DVD drive in "Computer" there is an Eject option. This should also open it but is obviously software initiated.

Mostly this sort of problem is mechanical so maybe it has got somewhat jammed due to lack of use. There is also a rubber band that could fail.
