For some reason after installing afew Windows Updates I cannot connect to the internet when running programs. I've been trying to figure out the problem and i'm 90% sure it's got something to do with the new Data Execution Prevention bulls--- Microsoft have put out.

I've tried disabling DEP with all those command prompts etc but still no luck. Now the programs i've been trying to run are Windows Live Messenger, Frostwire, Steam, Warcraft III and they all seem to load fine, but I just can't seem to connect to the internet through them. I can run IE8 fine, but only in 64-bit.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Think the problem might be caused by faulty winsock after having windows updates, you can test to use winsockfix to reset winsock catalog, see whether it helps.
