Comment:
I have a gateway GT5432 and it came with vista. due to the incredibly uncomptable setting of the OS i am considering doing a clean format of my main drive and installing WinXP Pro.
First off, am i doing the right thing? i mean i see now why vista isnt a real popular OS.
Secondly, is my computer, GT5432, compatible for WinXP Pro? (It has AMD 64 X2 Live processor)

Looking at Gateway's spec sheet, you shouldn't have too many probs installing XP or even Win2K. Do a little research and locate compatible drivers before wiping & installing, though.
I'm definitely not a Vista advocate, but I'll admit that the OS is growing on me. What kind of compatibility problems are you having? Running Vista now, and there's really only one program that I cannot get to run well.
