Subject: System Restore Not Working!OS: Vista UltimateCPU/Ram: 2.2 GHz/2 gigModel/Manufacturer: Self Made |
Comment: I have made two separate restore points which showed as being made since installilng Vista Ultimate. I have tried to use a system restore two different times and each time when I go to system restore there is a message that no restore points have been made. I know there was restore points shown. Are there others that have had this problem? Do I have to log in as an administrator in order to set a restore point. I don't know how to proceed but have been having lots of trouble these last several days. Any advise would sure be appreciate. Thanks in advance.

Reply: (edit)For everyones knowledge, I found out why the System Restore is not working in Vista and Restore points aren't being saved. I found an article that states that if you are using a dual boot with XP and Vista that each time you boot into XP the restore points in Vista are deleted. Has anyone experienced this? Sure would like to see what any of you have done.

Reply: (edit)XP User-You are a really something. I have been studying Vista for several months now and I've never seen this work around. I am amazed. Thank you for myself and everyone else who runs into the same problem. Your link answered my problem and I now have set restore points. At least that is one more thing controlled in this operating system.
