so when i try to put my computer to sleep it just wakes back up RIGHT after it shuts down. i've had my computer for a couple months and no problems and then starting a few days ago (like 5) it starts doing this.

so far i've looked into the power management options and i dont see anything in my current option set that any of the others have or dont have. i have it set to "high performance" with everything default except the display settings and the computer sleep setting (sleep is set to 10mins and display is set to 5 mins).

Disconnect the network cable, see also bios entries about keyboard mouse or any other wake on feature.

Might see event viewer logs.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

hmmm... interesting, event viewer says

-------

The system has resumed from sleep.

Sleep Time: 9/1/2008 6:49:00 AM
Wake Time: 9/1/2008 6:49:25 AM

Wake Source: Device -USB Root Hub

------

but like i said before is that this just started happening less than a week ago and I have no gotten any new hardware. I did move where my mouse was plugged in at and my keyboard because i was having issues... i'll cehck around and see what i can do with that in the morning when i can actually see behind my computer.

would it be a bios setting on why the "UBS hub" is waking my computer up? because instead of putting stuff back where it was i'd like to just eliminate it from happening at the source

alright guys... so I had the mouse plugged into the front USB ports on my computer because it'd been acting up lately and i didnt wanna move it because i didnt want it to act up anoymore... but i'd rather buy a new mouse than have to never use my "sleep" function again (because i liked it!!) so i moved my mouse to the back USB ports and it doesnt wake up by itself anymore... so i've solved the problem on getting it to stay asleep but why does it wake up when it's in the front ports?

event viewer now says

-----------------

The system has resumed from sleep.

Sleep Time: 9/2/2008 5:53:11 AM
Wake Time: 9/2/2008 5:53:44 AM

Wake Source: Device -Standard Universal PCI to USB Host Controller
