I have tried everything and then I read where you can push the alt key and f10 key and it was supposed to eRecover. it is now a black screen with no prompts like it said there would be and the courser is at the top and just blinks. it won't see any disks and doesn't do anything when I restart but go back to the courser black screen. I have an acer aspire m3201

If you upgraded a hardware, such as a graphics card, remove it and reinstall the previous card.
Restart your PC.
Uninstall software for that card and then remove the card from Device Manager.
Shut down your PC and remove old card. Put in the new card. Be sure to connect all cables.
Restart your PC. Windows will recognize the new card and install/ask the drivers for it.

Dear Karen, to help you further we need some more info. Based on what you gave us try this:
Cause you have a blackscreen and no disks: Boot your computer and press DEL or F2 to get into your boot menu. Reset to default. Save and Exit Try rebooting again
To boot with minimal drivers Boot, Press F8 choose for Safe Mode and let it boot.
