Stuck at Recovery console. HELP!

After the last "automatic updates", Vista will no longer start. I get the "Vista Startup Repair" screen but whenever I click "Start Windows Normally" or try to run the auto repair, it just keeps coming back to the same screen.

When I use the Vista CD to get to the recovery console, it asks me for the Administrative password. I type my admin password in, but it tells me this password is incorrect.

I even restored the backup from my server, but the machine still won't boot. The hard drive, etc. are fine (I ran full diagnostics).

Please advise!
