Stock ticker in Vista Sidebar

I can not for the life of me add commodities to the stock ticker that comes preinstalled with Vista. I live in canada so that might be why I'm having these issues, as I usually have to put US:*** for whatever stock/index I want to ad. I know the codes are -GC and -CL but when I search for those I come up emply. Is there a prefix for commodities like there is for US and Canadian stocks (US:/CA:). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

... oops...it seems the gadget will only pick up symbols for the country that matches regional settings
