OS: vista
CPU/Ram: 2.8/1gb
Model/Manufacturer: dell

recenlty when i start up my vista, it starts normal until after welcome screen, the screen goes black. i have to use Ctrl-Alt-delete in order for me to use task manager and start new process which's explorer.exe it goes back to normal window. how can i solve this issue with normal startup without going through black screen. many thanks in advanced

What do you mean by recently? Did it start acting like this, few hours ago; yesterday; last week?

Does this also happen in safemode?

Do a system restore to before it started. That should solve your problem. It seems to be a settings issue.
