Specs: Windows Vista, 3.00GB
Running a HP m9150f computer - Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
Processor - Inter Core 2 Quad CPU - 32 bit Operating System
Computer was working okay until about 8PM Wed night 2/09/2011.
Had done nothing to system that day, but did download and install several window update on 2/08/2011. I have tried everything that I have read on int internet about getting my Taskbar/Start Button back, but nothing works. I can not do a system restore, because there is no restore days earlier that 9:37 PM (ET) 02/09/2010.
Would apprecate any help I could get
Thank You

Right click your desktop
Click Personalize
Click Taskbar and Start Menu
It should have all your info about the taskbar, make sure it says its on the bottom and not hidden, these are the default settings.

After installing the February 2011 updates, I lost my desktop icons, wallpaper, and the system reverted back to when I bought my computer. A system restore did not work and I got a blue screen. I rebooted into safe mode and the system restore worked and everything is back. Interestingly enough, the updates still show that they installed successfully when checking the update history.
