I used to get dozens of spam e-mails everyday on my Yahoo account. I had to just sit down one day and unsubscribe from all of them. Now I get 1 or 2 per week.

IM TOLD not to go in and unsubscribe from them as your then letting the sender know you are receiving their emails.

Whether or not they were told that I received them, unsubscribing worked for me.

Unscribe will work if you subscribed to them in the first place and/or they are honest. Whilst this is indeed spam, it is not the type that folk are usually complaining about on these boards.

If spam just comes "out of the blue" then this is different type of spam. The senders are almost always dishonest and unsubscribing will confirm your existence and make things worse. The best way to stop this type is to change your email address and then NEVER publish it openly on any website. If Google can find it then so can the spammers.

Still, although I never subscribed to any of it in the first place, unsubscribing DID work. I'm talking out of experience. If I get spammed again, I'll continue to unsubscribe, regardless of whether or not I subscribed to it.

OK fine, then I guess no two experiences are ever alike. My input was also from experience, donkeys years of it.

Sorry that I sounded defensive, it's just that I feel like everyone posting in this thread disagrees with me even on my opinion which as I said was from experience. No harm intended.
