OS: Vista Home Premium
CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2.10GHz/2GB
Product: Self Built
Comment:

When playing sound sometimes it will cut off and stay that way until I reboot, however, I have discovered that if I click on ''Computer'', which brings up all the drives, then double click on the ROM drive in use. This brings up a list of tracks on that particular disc, if I then double click on any track, my sound comes on again. I don't know if this is a bug in Vista or not but it is only since installing the new OS.
Any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried updating your sound card's drivers?

when you go to the track list.. is the song still playing before you double click a song or does the actual song stop altogether?
Have you tried using another CD?
Check the Sound in Control Panel to see if it says "Working" on the Playback tab.
Check the actual volume control.
Check the connections to the computer if you're using speakers or headphone.
If there's another sound card on your computer like in the front and try plugging in headphones to see if it does the same.
If it does the same thing on the other sound card... you can rule out that it is the sound card and has to be the tracks on the disc or sound card drivers.
