Now I must start off stating that this suddenly started to happen after booting alright so I ruled our OS or CPU/RAM. My PC boots up very slowly it takes a few hours from pressing the on button to the welcom screen. All the slownedd is after the drivers have loaded and while it is scanning the hardrive. (I set up boot log and all the rest so I can see how far it is, please can someone hepl, I preferebly don't want comments like reinstall or reset windows as I have a almost full 500gb main hard drive (which also has nothing to do with the slowness as it has been like that for months and this started several days ago) and can't put it on any other media as my 320 gb is also full and my laptop is full and my mums PC is very slow and not nig enough. Please help Thank you

Run msconfig and see what is under the startup tab. Uncheck what's not needed to load at boot time, which is most everything. Look for strange entries that don't belong.

I have a almost full 500gb main hard drive (which also has nothing to do with the slowness ..
Sure it does and that is exactly your problem. You need to have at least 15% - 25% free disk space for Windows plus the hard drive itself to function efficiently.

"My PC boots up very slowly it takes a few hours from pressing the on button to the welcom(e) screen."
Seriously or are you exaggerating?

1)Seriously (lucky i have a laptop to pass the time)
2)No in this case it can't have been because I said it has been like that for months but the problem started recently.
3)guapo, you have given what must be a very helpful tip BUT there is a very major problem with it in this case, That will only help (although it does help well) after it has got to the welcome screen and After you have clicked to login, my problem is after the drivers have loaded but before the welcome screen comes up

Doing what I said reduces the number of drivers that have to load before the welcome screen appears.

This sounds like a serious hardware fault to me rather than things taking ages to load. What's your HDD indicator doing during this time?
The fact that it has suddenly started happening could indicate anything, such as your hard drive failing. If there are bad sectors then this can add considerable time to hard disk read and writes so get a CHKDSK running. Have you checked your system temperatures also?

Yeah but I did say it was after the drivers have loaded and I also said it suddenly started.
I have no idea what happens because there is no indecator I shall set it to chkdsk I regualy do have hard drive failures for both myh computer and laptop and although my computer has not been in once my laptop has been in mamy times and 2 of those times had HDD faults. Medion arn't verhy good for hardrives. However I do many chkdsks but it does come up with stuff but in pratice gets no whereTHANKS FOR TRYING TO HELP

but it might not be over

I was thinking along the same line as Alex, hence my asking if there is an exaggeration in the boot duration observation.
Arguably, any machine that takes several minutes to boot, let alone hours, definitely has some component in it that is inherently faulty. And usually, the HDD is the culprit. Sometimes, the HDD's bad integrity might be due to massive sector errors & a diagnostic tool from the manufacturer is able to resolve the issue. At other times, the issue signifies imminent death of the HDD.
Either way, you need to start thinking about an arrangement to salvage crucial data on that hard disk before it is too late.
