Hi,
I am trying to create a restore point in vista and get the error;-
The restore point could not be created for the following reason; The shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the specified operation (0x80004230F)
Please try again.
I've tried and keep getting the same message. Have check disk space (over 100Gb free). Services haven't been changed but am not a techie so not sure what to try next.

That can't be the error number; it's too long.
I couldn't find anything about your problem, but a command did pop up, actual mileage may vary: vssadmin Resize ShadowStorage /For=C: /On=C: /MaxSize=2GB
Also, make sure you're launching System Restore as Administrator (right-click on icon).

Apparently, that error pops up after you've put the PC into sleep mode. Try disabling your sleep mode and rebooting your PC.
