Im trying to install the 4-Port Switch Linksys Router, when I connect it to the dsl modem and everything I goto the website 192.168.1.1 but nothing comes up... What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help I appreciate it. I dont have the instruction manual so im not sure if thats the correct ip address I need... Thanks

The Model# is BEFSR41 Ver.4

1. Disconnect modem from the router, leave your PC connected to router however.

2. Hard-reset the router - Press reset for 30seconds. allow to reboot.

3. Access the web-based utility

http:/192.168.1.1
username (leave blank)
password admin

4. Set it to PPPoE w/ your DSL username and password

5. Change the local IP address of the router to 192.168.2.1

save settings, reconnect all devices.

why do i have to change the ip address?
it wont work without changing the ip ?
