when i moved my laptop must have hit a button or something because my screen size got smaller. On both sides its black but everything fits into the spaces so the screen just got smaller. Does anybody know what i pushed and how to fix it

Check the Fn key make sure you hadn't inadvertently pressed it in combination with a display hotkey.

go to control panel, and change screen resolution

Just right click on empty area of your desktop, click "Personalize", then click "Display Settings".
