Comment: I have two computers both new in last year. HP Media Center Desktop and nice Toshiba notebook. Both run Vista home premium. Problem is that screen saver will not function on either machine. I have tried various savers and time settings. Neither work. Ideas? WRSmith

Reply: (edit)As mentioned in post 2 your problem is a Microsoft Update that is missing from your machine. I had the same problem and that is what it turned out to be. Sorry don't have the KB# handy but a search of the available updates should turn it up. Good luck.
