Solved Sam-sung Windows 8 Phone ID Conflict

February 12, 2013 at 06:35:47
Specs: Windows 7

I have two identical Sam-sung Windows 8 Phones. SGH-T899M.
When connecting one phone to the USB port on the computer all goes well.
When disconnect the first phone and connect the second phone the computer tries installing the MPT software and fails. I believe there is a conflict with using the same phones with different unique IDs. or serial numbers. Is there a way to edit the system registry to ignore the different phone ID's or to add an ID.

Thanks

Did you try to connect both of them at the same time or connect the 2nd phone before you boot the PC?

Samsung couldn't find a solution. Told me to send the phones back. I told them there was nothing wrong with the phones, that it is an ID conflict.
Now I am running windows 8 on a surface pro and I can have both phones with a different name working perfectly. It was a software issue with either Samsung or windows 7.
Thanks for the help.
