space gives me the messg--'page not
found,connection failure'. does that mean my
server isnt working? i previously had visual studio
installed on my computer so i uninstalled it..even
now the problem exists..help!

Use the IP address of the local machine instead of localhost.

http://192.168.1.100/index.php or something like that.
