Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working This happens when I open a folder in Windows Explorer with video files viewed as thumbnails

I had the same problem. I discovered that the cause (in my case) was the lmpgspl.ax file in the windows/system32 folder. I simply renamed the file 1lmpgspl.ax and the problem went away. Video thumbnails now show without an error message.
