I need to restrict my guest user account so that my
roommate cannot access the internet, but so that I can
still get on without trouble. Can anyone tell me if and how
this is possible? Thanks.

I would just disable the network card before you log off each time because the guest account would not have rights to re-enable it because I am not sure there is a way to restrict the guest account specifically in the group policy editor but I could be wrong about that.

Kind of defeats the whole room MATE deal doesn't it? How about you guys work out an agreement?
You should have a "guest" account. You normally make a limited user for all people who use the computer (even you) you use run as or open admin user only if you need to do admin.
They can easily bypass any and all security if they have access to the machine.
You may have a logon name and password that is needed to connect. You can change that often to prevent anyone at your location from accessing the ISP.
Again, you need to come to some agreement.Playing to the angels

Um, yeah, thanks for the parenting tips, but we're working
through some tough love issues here, and quite frankly, I can't
trust her to be honest with me, so "setting up rules" doesn't
work.
I suppose I'll just have to log off the network each time I get off
the internet, which would prevent her from getting on the
internet. Thank you for your help.
