Replace VISTA Desktop with XP Pro

Specs: Windows Vista Basic
I was Given & Almost New Vista Basic (ACER) Desktop And I Do Not Like It..
I Wish to Wipe Vista & Install XP Pro.
I Not Having Much Luck at Doing This..
Sure Would Like Some Help On This Matter..

Texas Refugee Here..

I Have Read Other Peoples Problems to This Vista to XP Conversion..

THIS IS WHAT is Happening to ME,,,

I Boot to XP Pro & This Is What Message I Get;;;

Setup Cannot Continue Because The Windows Version On My Computer is Newer Than The Version On the CD...

Check For Solution ON Line...

Answer: No Solution..?

Thats is as far as I can Get..?

Before you get too far you might want to first check if xp drivers exist for your Aspire. Better to find out now that they don't then get thru a xp install that doesn't work properly.

I'm simply amazed you don't just upgrade to Windows 7. Reverting to XP sets you back. The OS of now and the future (at least at this time) is windows 7 and will probably be around for years to come....I can see where XP will start getting phased out in the near future just like win 98 was.


Why not try the windows 7 upgrade advisor and see if your vista is compatible? Genuine activation keys are quite inexpensive anymore. I have already converted 6 PC's to Windows 7 and they work great.
