My computer is 2 weeks old. I tried to install my old sound card (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS) but the computer did not like the driver CD, after many attempts and error messages (the Creative site admits that it does not support Vista) I took it out and removed all the Creative software in Add and Remove Programs.
Now, everytime I boot up i get a dialogue box saying "SPI (Creative X-F1 Module) has stopped working. It then gives me the option to either "check online for solution" or "close program", this obviously has to do with the sound card. I removed all Creative programs, i even did a search on my hard drive and there are no programs or files related to Creative, Sound Blaster, or X-F1 Module, yet I still ge this dialogue box.
I am flumexed and do not know how to get rid of it, any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help

Apparently, something is trying to load the errant module. Have you checked your MSCONFIG startup entries?

Check in programs in features in the control panel, if its still in there you should uninstall it. This may fix the problem.
