Comment: I am using Vista Home Premium and I I am having the devil's own job of getting windows to remember their sizes. My particular irk is "Control Panel." I have it set so that the entire window can be seen, and the icons are set to "Medium." When I open it the configuration will vary... it may open in classic mode with tiny icons, it never opens to the previous size, sometimes it will open to "Control Panel Home." It's enough to drive one back to XP! How do I rectify this? I done the "Folder Options/View" bit but it doesn't work. Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

Reply: (edit)If you find an answer then come back ans share it! I have Vista Ultimate 64 and I'm dealing with the same thing. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, the windows don't want to remember their last setting. I don't believe it's anything that we are doing (or not doing). I think it's simply a bug that they need to fix.

Reply: (edit)Sadly, Windows Vista was born with advanced Alzheimer's disease and M$ apparently isn't doing anything to cure it. The following link shows that we are not the only ones asking why Vista doesn't remember folder settings. http://www.google.com/search?source... Or .. perhaps this one does by force-feed Vista with massive dose of medicine? i_Xp/VistaUser
